(top) In these diagrams, you see a conceptual approximation of the Van Ierssel House. On the left, as a screen against the noisy traffic, a diagonal splits the world. Even the parcel (center) - red in the extreme corner of the big-scale plan - has the shape of a rectangular triangle. On the right, and below, the interiour elements show ongoing triangle handling without any compulsion. The triangle governs all of the scales from development plan to detail (the little green accents in the outer walls of the floor plan and the rectangular ground plan above). Notice the disappearing of triangles in the centric utility rooms.
