Like in the Dislodgement Model, in the Stack-and-Drag Model we use the concept of spheres of infuence. The influence may be physical or chemical.

In both models, in a certain point of time, in order to construct a new configuration, we interpret earlier sets of spheres in similar neighborhoods.
